    Refund Question

I paid for an animal last week. It was supposed to arrive this morning. This morning I recieved an email from the seller saying that he had personal problems at home and missed the ship date and would try to ship today. I responded that I would like to know if it would arrive tomorrow instead since I needed to make arrangements for someone to be here since I cannot take the day off from work (I was off today).

I did not hear back all day. I finally sent another email stating that if the animal will not arrive tomorrow, I want a full refund.
The unseasonably warm weather is now gone and waiting any longer would mean shipping in single digit temps which I do not want. This animal is gravid and I refuse to have her shipped in extreme temps.

Am I wrong to demand a refund?

I am sympathetic to family issues arising but at the same time, I don't want to jeopardize the animal.
I still have not gotten any word back so I am assuming that since I did not get a tracking number that the animal will not arrive tomorrow.

At this point the window of opportunity to ship in 40-50 degree temps has passed and since I have not heard anything regarding shipment, I would like a full refund. I realize people have problems and delays happen but in this case, I think the delay would negatively impact the animal and I do not feel I should have to deal with that and should be given a full refund.

What are your opinions on this?

A refund would be fair if the snake has not been shipped and he ever wants to do business with you in the future. and I agree it got cold real fast and that window closed quickly.

Well to be truthfull i would get a full refund. Why take the added chances(temps lower) of losing her and the possible babies.

    Re: Refund Question

You are definately not in fault for demanding a refund. The seller broke the contract/his word. Not you.

Just curious................was this a big breeder or a smaller guy/girl....and how was his rep?

just my if and when i begin breeding, i will have some device i can check email during the day, i have to say i hate when people don't respond, now of course sometimes you can't (emergencies and what not) but even if it's to say something came up, you have to let your customers kno........now im no expert or some great business man, but this is how i would do things............hope everything turns out ok for you SPJ (Good Luck)

    Re: Refund Question

Well I guess I wasn't too messed up being concerned.

He just issued a full refund rather than ship for Thursday (it was supposed to be 9 degrees).
He understood my concerns about shipping in single digit temps.
It just got too cold to attempt to ship a gravid female. Too many things could go wrong.

Definitely a good guy who cares about the welfare of his animals more than the money.

    Thumbs up to Ron Billingsley.

    Re: Refund Question

wasnt from Baton Rouge or nearby was he? I had a problem with someone in LA who shipped a week late with no heating and he shipped it 2 day air...in the middle of a Minnesota winter. I lost one snake that died before it made it here, and I got lucky and one of them survived. never did get my refund.

ok now that I see I didnt read all the way down, I take that back. didnt realize you got your refund. sorry for the mix-up
