New Pics of Severus the BCI

Well it's picture taking day LOL so here's Severus, our son Luke's Colombian Red Tail Boa (05 male BCI).

    Sev peeking over Mike's shoulder....

Trying to show his length but he's so darn busy it's hard to get him to stretch out and relax a minute for a photo op LOL....

Severus on the diningroom floor before he set off to explore parts unknown...he's really growing up into a lovely male with the typical BCI great personality and feeding response...a total sweatheart of a snake....

I tried to get a close up photo of his face to show how beautifully his slight jaw misalignment has sorted itself out but they all turned out fuzzy. Mr. Sev couldn't stop trying to bob and weave and check out the camera lens while I was snapping away in his face LOL.

Thanks Bill, so do we. Before we rehabbed Rauri aka Sonja we didn't really much care for them but we fell in love hard and fast. Now the house would feel incomplete without a boa in it. One day when Sonja breeds Becky has promised us a lovely daughter of hers who we may one day mate to Sev (or just enjoy having the two boa's...they are great to watch tv with LOL).

lol I would have to agree. Once they settle in that is. An excited boa can move a lot faster than one may think, fast little buggers they are.

Plus, even if you take your B.c.i. out for handling almost everyday of the week for an hour or so, they will almost never will refuse food as with a ball, just 2-3 times a week could be too much stress. Gotta love the boa

he looks great, you son(and you) sure are doing a great job with him.

Thanks Jake. He's a super nice snake and yes doesn't stress as much as the BP's do so he's perfect for a 15 year old young man. Luke knows that no matter what life is like over the next number of years (college, etc.) Sev will always have a home away from home here with Mike and I (after all we are his snake grandparents LOL).

That is so sweet. Once you go boa, "you never go back", says a very wise man

Actually it's the same deal we have with Beth with her Milksnake and will be the same deal we offer any minor we sell a snake to (and yes it will be in writing with parental signature). If life changes temporarily or permanently and you can no longer house the snake it has a home with us or we will help you properly rehome it. Young folks can make great snake keepers but none of us know the future and when you are a teenager if that future includes a college dorm or a partner that hates snakes, well it's nice to have a back up plan in place.

I would have to agree. No matter what, in my future I will try my hardest to never get rid of my animals but if need be, Ruby will be the one I will hold onto no matter what. B.c.i. are the greatest!!!
