    Holidays in SoCal DUW

I'm so behind in getting pictures shared, I have oodles...

First up, our Thanksgiving...eaten on the patio because the weather was loverly! The big magnum of champagne was a wedding gift that Rick and I had no problem polishing off, hehe!

Next up, we upgraded our grill! Bought a Weber Summit Platinum D6, a discontinued model drastically on sale from Amazon - no sales tax and NO shipping for this monster! Rick luuuurves his precious! =D These are pictures of Rick grill/smoking the turkey for Christmas dinner, sporting his Harris Ranch apron*.

*We buy Harris Ranch steaks from our local grocery and they are awesome! We stopped at Harris Ranch on the way home from our road trip honeymoon and dined in their 4 star restaurant. It was outstanding. =)

Santa brought Rick lots of grill toys for Christmas, including the insulated grill gloves he's wearing, which allows you to handle the food directly without burning yourself. They are too cool. =)

Next, it SNOWED here yesterday. We're at about 1300' elevation and it snowed (!!!) and stuck!!!!!! First time it's happened since I've live in Cali (13 years).

These are views of our apartment complex and patio with SNOW!! My poor hibiscus didn't know what to think...

    That's it! Enjoy. =)

Aww.. Rick looks like a happy boy with his grill. Those grill gloves are cool though! I set a hot pad on fire when cooking recently (I'm a good cook though, really!), maybe I need a pair of those.

You have very beautiful plants.. me likes.. oh, and that is not considered snow. That is barely more than frost.

The gloves are awesome! I didn't get them from Amazon, but these are pair I got him. I used them the other day to shred hot chicken straight-from-the-crock pot and they worked like a charm. Great for turning turkey mid-way through roasting...They're really easy to clean too - just wash your "hands" with soap and water and let'em dry. =)

And it may not be much snow - but it SNOWED, which it never does at this low altitude in SoCal!

    Cassandra,

It's nice to see your pics, and yummy food! Rick looks very happy.

Are we getting together again soon? I hear there are plans a-brewing!

Thanks! I haven't seen anything about a get together...I assume this is something brewing over at cornsnakes.com - got a linky?

So far nothing quite yet.. Just the SoCal Corn Club. Check it out on the subforums, and that may give you an update.
