Many pet stores will do that its a shame really but they are easy to tell apart if you know what you are looking for.Originally Posted by Razaiel
I have been working with a pair recently as I love big lizards. They will be nervious for awhile, but most tame down with handling. It can take several months to get them tamed down, start when they are small as small lizards have smaller mouths. They require a large amount of space and you have to be ready for the fact that many will hibernate in the winter months regardless of how you are keeping them, and they get crouchy when bothered.
Sarah, you may also want to check MA laws about keeping large lizards B&W tegus may be on the no no list.
