NO Sticky Feet!!
So, I don't know why I did not pay attention till now. Chomper can not climb...at all. She is 5 mths old now and just shed 4 days ago. But she has never stuck to anything. Never on the side of her glass tank or on the lid like I hear everyone talk about. I just had her out to "test" her and she sticks to nothing...glass, plastic, wood. She will stick to my clothes and my arm, but cloth has a grip and the hairs on my arm. Any one have a clue as to why my Chomper is with out gecko glue?

Re: NO Sticky Feet!!
I have heard that if their environment is kept too dry they won't be able to climb. But I am assuming you mist her cage, I have seen her and she looks healthy to me. I know when they don't want to stick to something they kind of curl their toes up and they wont stick.
Other than that have you checked the bottom of her feet to make sure there isn't any stuck shed?

yes, I mist her cage, but since I am in Tucson maybe I should be misting more. I mist in the morning and the evening.

Re: NO Sticky Feet!!
How low are you letting the humidity drop before you mist again? Everything I have read has said not to let it drop below 50% I keep mine between 60 and 90%. I lightly mist in the morning if it drops to about 55 60% I will lightly mist to bring it back up, then give a real good misting in the evening.

You can also make a moist hide if your humidity is still too low. Just cut a little door in a tupperware container and put went moss on the bottom.

Re: NO Sticky Feet!!
Okay I am misting about 4 times a day so I am going to keep a moist hide in the tank. I have sphagnum moss....can I use it? Also, will this "return" her feet to sticky or is she stuck for good with no gecko glue... no pun intended LOL

Re: NO Sticky Feet!!
Moss is perfect as long as it's not treated with any chemicals or anything. I'd see if the sticky comes back n a couple days. If not, I'd go ahead and see if you can see the dead skin on the toes. If you can, try to gently pull it off with some tweezers. Careful not to pinch her little feet.
If not, it should come off with the next shed.
