I feed live till they get to rats the I feed pk but I also feed F/T

There is the risk with bigger feeders of injury to the snake. If your uncomfortable with the idea fee PK or FT

F/T stands for Frozen / Thawed or P/K is Pre / Killed.

Feed what you feel comfortable with. And hope that you never get one that'll only eat live. Cause in the end if you need to be comfortable with any thing you do in regards to you snakes so you can provide the best care possiable.

For whatever it's worth, I feed HUNDREDS of ball pythons live food week in and week out ... been doing it for YEARS ... I've never had a single bite, nip, scratch, or mauling ... there's a right way and a wrong way to do EVERYTHING.

    Re: Good or Bad

In a perfect world, every BP would be a little angel, and scoop up/eat a nice thawed or prekilled prey item.. now in reality, this is not the case. Only two of my BPs will eat f/t; the other ones just will not, end of story. I wholeheartedly support live feeding.. now, there are right and wrong ways to do it, as Adam said. Dangling a terrified rat by the tail.. is not good; the rat is going into it terrified and in pain, and thus defensive. The way I do it, is, I toss the rat in gently in the snake's line of sight, and back away, watching in case anything bad happened (nothing has in all these years.) The rat is confused and curious, not afraid and in pain.. WHAM, the snake has it before it knows what hit it. If the snake does nothing in about ten minutes I remove the rat and try again in a week or so.
