Opinions please
Since I'm new to the breeding thing I'd like to see what you guys think.
I have a 7 year old female virgin that is now weighing in at 1,600 grams (underfed until I got ahold of her).
I don't have any male snakes that are large enough yet to mate.
Should I wait until my males are ready and she has gained more weight or do you think I could try doing a breeding loan now.
I'd love to have some babies soon but I also can't afford to buy a older male right now either.

If you know she is underweight, you should also know that you should wait....
There should be no super rush, and it is much better to have her bigger and healthy before trying to breed her.

I would not do a breeding loan, especially this late. You should quarantine for at least 2 or 3 months regardless of who the snake comes from IMO. Wait until next year when she is in better shape and your males are ready.

Good idea because realistically, if you cant afford an older male, you likely wouldnt be able to afford to house and care for a clutch of babies. Have you thought about how you would properly accommodate a whole clutch of babies? What are your plans for these babies?... sell, keep?

Saying I can't afford it isn't exactly right. I should have said I don't want to spend the money on an older male right now because I wouldn't need him in the future.
I have the means to accommodate a clutch. I would keep some of them and probably sell a few of them.
I'm going to wait until my pastel is large enough though.
