I took time for a little horsey photo-op last week when the weather was bad and they were in for the day.. Cuesta was her usual ladylike self at first..




But then when I started paying attention to Emma..



The goofy antics began!

You're right, it made me laugh.

I get a similar reaction with my two dogs. You can NOT pet one, without the other trying to nose in. I guess no one likes to be left out.

I am wondering how she learned this.. she was owned by a family with kids; maybe at some point, she just started making goofball faces and they gave her treats or something.. or she could just be testing me out to see how to get attention.. it would not be anything that a top-form show horse would be encouraged to do, though!

Oh that is hilarious Jen! Does she only do these faces to get attention or just randomly? Horses are pretty smart creatures and it seems can quickly figure out what works and what doesn't work to get what they want from us humans. I was giggling thinking how a show judge would react to that sneer or sticking her tongue out rudely as the judge walked by LMAO!

It's weird; this is actually not the first time. Anytime Emma is crosstied in front of Cuesta's stall, she does this; like when the farrier comes to trim feet.. weird..
