    Question Winter months=Stopped Eating

Seems like this time last year some of my BP's stopped eating for a couple months. Is this normal and do any of you experience this hair pulling time. Also my adult JCP also stops eating and won't feed again til Febuary. I really need to find him a girlfriend, during this time he is so active and just acts like he's in search of something constantly until end of march. Drives me nuts. Ok, would like to hear your input. Thanks.

    Re: Winter months=Stopped Eating

The majority of mine eat just fine. I have one girl though... She has never had a good feeding response. She's hasn't eaten in a month. I've tried moving her around in the rack. I know her temps and humidity are right... She's just sent to try my patience.

My youngsters are feeding machines though. You'd think I'd been starving them.

    Re: Winter months=Stopped Eating

I have three youngsters that eat like hundred year locust. At least two fuzzie rats every Tuesday. I have two adults that have consistantly not eaten from October to March for the last four years, but weekly March thru September. The other two adults are new and I don't have a pattern on them yet. The female has eaten in the last three weeks, but the male has refused twice. I quit worrying about it two years ago, as they have never gone more than the five months without eating, and have always restarted in the spring. If they ever don't start again that will be a different story.

Knock on wood, all of mine eat every week. The only faster I ever had was Kashmire when he was in a 20 gallon long. Moved him to a tub and he eats consistently now.
