flexwatt on a glass enclosure
i keep my baby ball in a 30 gallon (long) glass enclosure. I am guessing that a 11" flexwatt with a ranco or helix (haven't decided how much money i'll have yet). is going to do the trick? UTH is my last step for her cage, and i searched this forum pretty well and saw not alot on the subject of glass enclosures.

yes that will do unless it is in a very cold room. it still needs to be regulated though

Re: flexwatt on a glass enclosure
So long as you have a thermostat or rheostat on the heat panel, it will be fine. If you pt the heat panel on the glass unregulated, it will probably crack the glass.

i'm definately going to regulate it via thermostat...i'm just trying to see what size is big enough? like does half of the tank need to be covered in the heat source?

Re: flexwatt on a glass enclosure
Hi,
I'm far from expert at this but I always try to have a third of the enclosure at the hot end temp ( with a smaller supplemental basking spot if I can) to try and give a smoother temperature gradient.
