I have a question for you because I too own a female red tail that is exactly like yours and about 4'(but your color is stronger!). At what length/age do they start to put on the POUNDS.. I mean when do they start to obtain the heavy body that I see on on the bigger ones?

Yea, i know what you mean. They usualy get that "big boa" appearance around 5-6 feet. Right now she is 4 foot, and still seems small to me because she doesnt have the girt of lets say a python.
