    morph prices

What morphs do you all expect to drop in value for the 07 clutches? Expect any to gain value?

    Re: morph prices

Im sure mojaves are going to go down at least a little, and I cant really say for very much else. Spiders might go down. Not real sure. You can never really tell until it happens.

    Re: morph prices

I personally think that co-dom prices will drop more. I'd not be surprised to see yellow-bellies and spiders to drop more. Pastels too, but the pastel male price is darned low already.

    Re: morph prices

I think that the pastel price will plateau where it is now, pretty much. I don't see it going much lower, though it's been lowballed a lot, I don't see how pastel breeders can let their snakes go for the price of normals..
A lot of people have Spiders now.. in one to three years, I see a lot of them will be on the market. But people as always, who are serious, will pay for quality, so if you plan on making any money, your snakes and your reputation are going to have to stand out from the crowd! Building a rapport with people (on thie or another forum, etc) would be a great way to build trust.

    Re: morph prices

I am starting the reputation here and will get into other forums. I am by no means trying to do this solely for the money. I am doing it because snakes are a hobby of mine and I would like to see what I can get (hoping for albinos to start).

    Re: morph prices

Expect all the prices to drop. The dom and co-dom prices will drop more and faster. I expect all dom and co-dom prices to be similar to a Pastel in the next several years, so be aware. The recessive (albino) will be lower than '06 but will drop much slower, and stay a bit higher than the dom and co-doms.

This year I think Mojaves and Spiders will drop the most. Other morphs will be less drastic. You'll also have to look where your buying from, the prices will vary.

    Re: morph prices

I say that the one morph that seems to hold its value the best "to me" is the pieds. First, its a recessive. Second it is VERY striking.
Other recessives, and designer combos might fare well too.
The co-doms, and co-dom combos like bumblebees have already dropped in price. They will continue to drop, but I feel it won't be another bomb drop, just a slow decrease in price. I think MAYBE the price of pastel females will drop some more, but the pastel male price is already as low as it will go. IMHO of course. Like someone else mentioned, it has hit a plateou already.
It could be that within the next 2 years, pastels will become so common that they are nearly as easily found in pet stores as normals.

    Re: morph prices

Co-dom prices tend to drop steadly over the years but they do hit a level. What you'll see is the ressave(sp) stuff comming down slowly. And the quote unquote designer morphs starting to take center stage, I.E Bees, killers, lemon blast, albino pied, spider pieds, pashaves, lucys, black balls, ivorys and so on.. Just my two cents.
