You mean pied possible het albino male ... they'd have to be proven out as well ... there are all kinds of ways you can maximize your production over time ... Initially, I prefer a straight line ... DH male to possible DH females ... period ... 1 in 16 isn't "that bad" ... and if you hit in your first year, it was all worth it ... without knowing the exact size of the group of girls, I couldn't give anything more than a very causual overall opinion.

Ahh... you're right. He'd be back in the same boat with another possible het, although his pieds would most likely be proven. I guess it depends on what his goals were. If he's trying to build more capital, then the pied breeding would make more sense. If he's trying to produce an Albino Pied faster, then the DH would be the way to go.

Well, my assumption would be that if you're shelling out the bucks for possible DH's over het pieds or het albinos (as well as the DH male) than your goal would be to produce Albino Pieds ... At least that's how I work things here ... everything is in seperate breeding groups ... double het groups are only for the goal of making the designer that they are DH for ... pieds would have their very own breeding group ... The other thing I do is to look at all possible hets as likely proving out and then eliminating the ones that don't from the group ... with that outlook (assuming that they are in fact 100% DH's) it makes more sense to me to run the DH male to the girls at least initially.
