Re: Suriname Red Tail
Wow, awesome, I've always wanted a Suriname because of their beauty, but the size kind of puts me off.

Re: Suriname Red Tail
They don't really get that much bigger than a BCI. I've seen BCI's that are over 12 feet and Suri's that are maxed at seven. Females too with both of them. It's all on the owner and the snake. They are beauties to behold, pictures capture about half of the colors.

Re: Suriname Red Tail
I am seriously considering a suri or Peruvian next to breed with an albino. I love the tails on the Suri x albino's but the price on them is bit steep still IMO

Too many boas to list and a few balls as well

Re: Suriname Red Tail
The crosses? Nope, not that I know of. I have three of them, two hets and the albino female above, and they are all just as healthy as any other boa I have. They just look prettier is all. When lines are crossed in nature they usually prosper in health. Look at the mule. It seems that only the best qualities pass on to the siblings. This isn't proven by any stretch of the imagination, but it sure does look that way. I got the above Female and the pair of hets from Mike at Basically Boas. He has been working with perfecting the best looking albinos for many years now and he hasn't reported any problems with them either.
