We have small warm blooded pets. It won't affect your snake unless the cage is right next where the activity will catch his eye. Then he may strike at the side of the tank. We never have a problem as long as our hands don't smell like the hamster ,mouse or other pet.

yesterday i went to the garage, and during the winter, rats like to sneak into our garage, and i guess the scent caught on me somehow, and i took out one of my snakes and he seemed to be in his hunt mode, was slithering around sticking his tongue out
