What's the correct ambient temperature for a room which houses a BP?
Considering the cool side of a BP viv should be around 80 degrees...how warm do you guys keep the ambient room temperature where the snake is located. A friend of mine told me the room had to be atleast 75 degrees so that the air circulating into the tank isn't too cool. I can't imagine keeping a room that warm in the winter. Can somebody clarify this for me?

the room i keep my snakes in is at about 77 to 80 degrees ambient temps . if you dont want the rest of your house that warm you could use a small oil filled heater to up the temps in the room your snakes are in .

Thanks for the replies. I live in MI and its 22 degrees here right now. I think keeping a BP would destroy my heating/electric bill. Maybe I'll just stick with corns. =)

Yay! a fellow Michigander (jeeze I hate that term)
Abemas: I keep my room 77-80. Since I spend alot of time in the room 80 can get overbearing after a couple hours. With proper heating your tubs will have the proper temps in them and can be adjusted to compensate with the room temps.

I keep mine at 82-84, it's easier to keep the snake's temperatures when it is that warm in the room.

ok
could you do this
uth on one side thats your hot side 90-95 yadda where she lays to get warmm
them on the cold side have an above heat lamp at a low precent and controlled buy a thermostat to bump that up to 80...
if i keep my house at 65-70 it would take much at all to bump up the air in the tank to 80...

65 may be a bit to low to manage.
I keep my house at a 70 degree min. in the wintertime. The reptiles all live in my bedroom and I can't push the temp any higher and still be able to sleep in there.
Keeping a closed rack system helps me keep the proper temperatures for the bp's. I've also had to use a lot more UTH's to keep proper temps up in cages.
If I had room to move them out of my bedroom, I'd be able to keep the room at least 5 degrees warmer.

I have my pythons JCP and BP in a closet in a spare room, easy to maintain 80 with a small space heater. I haven't noticed any increase in heating costs since putting them in the closet.
