tub - uth one side, what about other side??
I've been trying to put this into the form of a question for a few days, but couldnt figure out how to say it.
I have a 41qt tub to house monty the python in. I also have a UTH that is very capable of heating the underside of the tub to well over 100 degrees, therefore is capable of making a good 94 degree warm spot for the tub. Now my question is, should this uth be enough to heat the entire tub? the other side feels cold! i have heat lamps up above warming the opaque lid, but this is making the humidity skyrocket out of control. I just put more holes in the tub to no avail as well. humidity went down for a bit then went back up to nearly 80 percent!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

"feel" is not an accurate way to measure temps. get a good digital thermometer to measure your temps. and make sure you plug that UTH into a thermostat...if you know it can go well over 100 degrees, i'm sure your snake doesn't want to know.
what is your ambient room temp?

Can we see a pic to see how many holes you have in it? My 41 qt. have close to 30 holes in the sides bc humidity is high here. If it does not heat it entirely, move it over some.

heres a pic of it:
there's the same amount of holes on the other side as well. the humidity is going up, you can even see condensation on the side!

You can always get a fan (set on low) and not aimed directly at the enclosure to drop humidity. I had to put a few holes in my lid, over the water dish too, just to get humidity right. Now that winter is here ( in MI ) and the air is drier, I just cover the holes on top and it works for me. You can also use a second UTH for the cool side, if your room temps are pretty low (below 75* or so). Make sure to use a thermostat for each UTH though. That is exactly what I needed for my tub set up. It took me a while to figure out the perfect scenario for my BP, but once you figure out what works for you, it's pretty much smooth sailing.

The best way to accuratly measue temps on both sides is to get a Thermometer with a probe and outside and inside reading they also com with humidity too. Place the probe over your warm side and tape it down and place the thermometer itself in the cool side so inside is cool and outside hot. Then check on it it will have high and low memory and you can begin to monitor and adjust temps as needed.

Yup, i think i read your mind I've got 2 sections of flexwatt coming, along with 2 sets of connectors, and a second herpstat thermostat, so i think all will be perfect after this
