Moving 2 of my snakes to tubs but what about feeding?

Sunday is my feeding day for the slither kids. But I want to move my other two from their tanks into tubs. Should I feed them today, wait the 2 days then transfer then and give them a week of no handling to get them use to their new tubs? My instinct says this would be the best but what do you guys think?

If they are good eaters and at good weights, one missed feeding shouldn't hurt.

oops.. I'm new to snake ownership - I just moved my monty from a tank to a tub, and fed him less than 3 hours later. Is the waiting period generally just because they usually won't eat after being moved into unfamiliar surroundings? or does it cause unnecessary stress even if they eat without any problems? Or could it just have been he was REALLY hungry? lol

Normaly its best to wait a week as it does place stress on them plus add the food in the belly could equal a regurge.Now your snake is like mine they did not care when food was placed in the tub it was PARTY time lol.I waited like a day though before offering them food.Not every snake is like this though and i suggest you wait the full week settle in time before offering food to the snake.

It's just a general rule of thumb to allow them a new settling in period anytime their environment changes. If your snake ate so readily, then I'm sure it'll be fine. Just be sure to leave it completely alone for a few days to make sure its fully digested before introducing any new stress (such as handling). As Joe mentioned...some snakes are just naturally more laid back and ready to eat no matter what's going on around them. Consider yourself fortunate!

Waiting is best not only for stress but to also make sure temps are stable. Actually I always test a new tub or rack for days to make sure temps are controled accurately before any snake ever goes in. Hopefully you did too before putting him in. Some times we get excited when we get a new enclosure and rush to put in the snake but that can be dangerous for the snake. I know what you mean Joe I got a snake that will eat any where, kinda like green eggs and ham! I'll eat that rat in a hat. I'll eat that mouse with a louse. LOL

Yeah I had Abbath's setup all pre-heated but had to make a few small changes when he was actually in there.
