    Computer program

Hey guys I've been looking around for a simple to use computer program for tracking all things herp related about my animals. Obviously a freeware program would be sweet but if you guys have something else that costs money but works great that would also be good.

I know I know probably gonna get a bunch of you saying to use paper and pencil
but I don't want to. I have a computer and I know how to use them and would just like a good tool to cross reference everything together than having a stack of notes in the corner. I'm not the greatest at keeping things organized on paper either so I can see years down the road if I start to get a lot of herps that info will get lost or misplaced.

    Any info is greatly appreciated.

Here is one of the better ones out there. A few big names use this stuff to keep track of their animals. A free version is available, but you can upgrade for $25. I have been using it for a while....it works pretty good and has some neat functions.

    Re: Computer program

I simply make my feeding charts on microsoft excel. Im also working on making a new one on excel for feeding, shedding, and tracking their weight. Its really easy and will obviously keep you organized better than paper. Hope this can help a little. I believe I have heard of a programn specificly for herps but I cant remember the site or person. Maybe some one else will remember.

    EDIT- lol, there it is.

    Re: Computer program

This guy posted a thread a few years ago that, for what ever reason, didn't get any attention. His program is neat, but i don't use it. Maybe others prefer handwritten or excel spread sheets...anyway, here's his web site for his software. It's windows based freeware

I use metzcal, which is a great program and it's free. However, it has a bit of a learning curve to it.
