Light Cycles
For those of you that provide your snakes with light during the day, I was wondering what time you guys put on your lights and what time you turn them off. I got a timer for my lights to see if it will help with my two fasting snakes; I just need an idea of what the span of time should be. I've heard 14 hours day, 10 hours night. Anyone care to share.

Re: Light Cycles
I personally don't use a light cycle, and my snakes breed just fine, though I know a number of people that do claim it does some good.
Their native habitat is right on the equator so their natural light cycle is 12 hours on and 12 hours off every day of the year. With a half an hour of twilight on either end of the day, you would get around 13 hours of usable light. So, 13 hours on and 11 hours off would be natural for them. 14/10 should work just fine too.

Re: Light Cycles
I turn mine on at 7am and they go off at 7 pm, and it works great for me!

Re: Light Cycles
Thanks guys,
Not looking to cycle for breeding, just hoping it might be a reason as to why my snakes are fasting. My temps and humidity are perfect so if this doesn't work I'm just not going to sweat it and watch their weights closely.
