Um, I do have one quick question:

One of his females laid a litter of babies in early September and I was wondering, *IF* we chose that path - how soon would it be safe to breed her again? She's a 6yr old ball python and had about 30 babies. Any help would be apperciated. What kind of substartes work best for these lizards?

Welcome aboard :

Others have already pointed out the questions about what species you're actually talking about, so I won't go there.

If your boyfriend has been taking care of them and the two of you are moving in together, then if I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about trying to figure out every little detail. Just watch him and let him teach you. And feel free to browse all these forums....look at pictures and match what you see to the topic of the post and you'll start to learn what the various species look like and how to tell them apart. And along the way, you'll learn all sorts of great tips about how to care for them.

It's all stuff that has to be absorbed over time. There's no short-cut or crash-course in all-things snake-related.
