Wow.....It show's their experience in keeping any kind of Rock Python, or any kind of Rock Python husbandry.
It is very difficult to keep a Burm in a full sized room for several reasons. First off, you will encounter many husbandric problem's, including keeping humidity at stable amount's that this species of python need's, as well as holding stable temp's. Along with this fact, your room you keep the burm in will probably get ruined if you do this. Humidity is detrimental on drywall, and wood, and may cause some warping of the wall's, window's etc.. Burmese Python's are ambush predator's and aren't as active as something along the line's of a colubrid or other species of snake's. As such, they do not require the larger size cage's many people claim they need. All these larger size cage's really do is make it more difficult to keep the species, and causes some problem's for the individual snake being kept. An adult Burmese (Rock) Python can be kept comfortably and securely in an 8' x 3' x 2' cage. They feel more secure this way, and feed more readily...not that feeding is really a problem with Burm's lol. All I can say is with this show of knowledge and "belief" that this animal hospital has shown...simply find a new one.
