Black Friday

So how was your black friday? I went from a doctor's apt to the ER and a treatment from my Ear Nose and Throat Specialist. They lanced the peritonsillar abscess I have and sent me home in a cab. The two people I know that are still in town that I can contact were working. With the narcotic they gave me, I'm not supposed to drive. And then I slept for the next 4 hours.

So, anybody go out and get some Christmas shopping done?

Oh you poor thing, that sounds painful!

I'm not crazy about shopping in crowds of crazy folks so I never shop on Black Friday even for milk and bread. Some of those people are nuts, acting all stupid just to get a few bucks off some Xmas gift or other (some Xmas spirit they have! LOL).

Working on getting my name changed, so went to change it at the bank. Got it changed, but their ATM card printer was broken and they refuse to mail out ATM cards for name changes (wtf?). Anywho, "go the Highland branch, it's the closest and they can do it for you."

Fine, whatever.

Drove to the Highland branch but the power was out in like a 6 block radius, so no power to print the card. And oh yeah, the Highland branch called my local branch earlier in the day and told them they were out of power. I love credit union customer service. Grrr.

Drove to the main branch, downtown San Bernardino, a city which makes Baghdad look like a pleasant place to live. Got the card and then drove through EVIL freeway traffic to get home. Meh.

So far its totally dead at my store. 2 weeks before Christmas is when we get more business.

I worked, hitting goal finally in the first time since I started there a year ago.. good stuff. Then took a cart of horse manure out into the back pasture.. then, ate soup on the computer.

I drove for 3 hours to drop some rats off, and only purchase is a dishwasher. We've needed one for 1.5 years, less and less time to clean lately so picked up a portable one.

I slept in this morning.

When Randy got home from work we went to the bank and came back home.

I took a nap for a couple of house and we just ordered pizza.

It was a nice day off

I will never, never, never, NEVER work another Black Friday in retail. I feel half dead... and I ony worked eight hours. I feel so bad for Frank... he started at 8:00 AM this morning and is still going (he's in retail, too). You thought shopping was bad... try the other side!

Got up at 6AM to go to work.. Petsmart opens at 9AM, but the entire parking lot was full 2 hours before opening.. and I had to park in the waaay far corner of Blockbuster's parking lot. Throngs of crazy shoppers.. and very irritable customers all day. I'm tired!

Yeah I worked retail at KB Toys ... That was hell during Christmas. Never again will I do that.
