    Feeding Schedule - Age/Weight

    I currently am feeding my BP on a 5 day feeding schedule with live mice and seems to be doing well.
    Here's his weight gain data:

    August = 50 Grams
    September = 80 Grams
    October = 110 Grams
    November = 140 Grams

    At what age/weight do I go to a once every 7 day feeding schedule?

    He'd be just fine on a 7-day schedule now.

    Re: Feeding Schedule - Age/Weight

    What sized mice are you feeding?

    In my experience, I've found that feeding multiple smaller items on a 7 day schedule has yielded excellend growth. I too got a hatchling in August which I feed 1-2 rat fuzzies, about the same amount of food as 1-2 small adult mice. I do this every 7 days, and that hatchling now weighs about 320 grams.

    The rate of growth you mentioned is fine though, everyone does things differently.

    Re: Feeding Schedule - Age/Weight

    I just changed his mouse size to the "small adult" size. I also only feed him one mouse per 5 days.

    I was real happy with his growth, but WOW .......... your's is 320 grams!!

    Re: Feeding Schedule - Age/Weight

    I feed all of my '06 babies 1 large mouse or 1-2 small mice every 7 days. All are over 200g, and the biggest girl Orlith, who I got in July, is already 450g. She usually gets just one mouse per week unless I have tons of hoppers floating around. The other two girls I got in July/August, are both around 300-375g. The male Pastel, Rineth, is around 250g or so.

    Sounds like you need to find some more robust mice!

    Re: Feeding Schedule - Age/Weight

    I would, hoppers are just too wiry and small for my liking. A small adult that has had time to grow and has some fat on it, is a good, substantial meal. You should see better growth.
