Please help - need tips

This is my first post, and although I wish it could have been a story of my bp or contribution to the forum, this is more a request for aid.

My bp just came back from a surgery in which his prolapsed anus was repaired. He's six months old, and was perfectly healthy up until yesterday, when I noticed the prolapse.

Now that I have brought him back, i've switched his substrate to paper towel, but I was wondering if there is anything else I can do for him in terms of caretaking (Humidity, temperature, etc.) or medication.

First welcome to the group .Well his temps should be kept at 90 to 95 hotside and 80 to 85 cool side just like before his surgery.Now the meds part did the vet who performed the surgery give you any meds for him?

Welcome to BPNet and so sorry to hear your snake had to have surgery. The best source of information really for his post-op care is the vet that performed the surgery. They should have sent you home with aftercare instructions as well as any meds needed and what schedule those meds are on for his recovery. Also when to feed post-op, etc.

Well i run a search and the only thread that came up was this one .The differance would be the inner anus tissue would be exposed outside of the vent.

i think just keep the temps stable, and just leave him be for awhile

how do you prevent this prolapse thing, those hemipenes look painful
