    Going Away

Ok, so I havent been as much I wished. And this is my first reptile site I've actually tried to stick around with. But Im going on Vacation to Alaska for Thanks Giving and for Christmas, should be back around New Years or a bit afterwards. My friend is going to take care of our snakes.. Unfortunately they'll have to be in their enclosure for a good 50days. Im hope they dont miss us, or the time outside their tanks. But for my friends and my snakes safetly we cannot allow them outside their tanks. But my friend (who is a long time snake lover and has snakes of his own) will feed them and make sure everything is A.O.K with my 3 boy and lil girl (snakes). What Im most concerned about is cleaning the tanks. Our Retic is a snake with attitude towards other people. He can slither around our house and be fine with just us there, but not with anyone else. Our rtb and Bp and corn snake should be easy to clean their enclosure, but Im worried about Billy, our Retic. We're thinking of actually using non-printed newspaper as bedding for the time, since it'll be easier to clean and much faster.
Now mind that we never had to restrain our Billy, and Im afraid our friend may have to.. and I dont want to come home to find a 14ft retic in the closet or under the couch (or tried to get under) and a dead man on our floor. So we may just have ot have a couple of our friends help out with Billy...

well I have to be packing soon. I'll try to be back with you guys in a couple month,s and no worries about our snakes. They'll be in good hands. See you all when we get back.
A weird thought past through my mind.
Just thinking if the Police Raided my home, they'd see a 14ft retic slithering around, a large redtailboa, a large Ball python who acts like a lap cat, and a corn snake who thinks he can make a nest out of my hair... and if they went inside my garage and checked inside my freezer... they'd find dead bodies.

    RIP Billy

I would make it a priority to insure that your friend never goes into the retic enclosure by himself! Make sure he always has at least one other capable adult standing by.

Have a great trip....Alaska at Christmas? Sounds like a winter wonderland to me!
