That is so pathetic... that's how police treat people all around the US. Police officers with no balls.... who knew?

This could have all been avoided if he left the first time they asked him to leave, but that's just my opinion and i'm not saying that my statement justifies the number of times he was tazed or even the fact that he was tazed to begin with.

Re: UCLA student repeatedly tazed
That is no joke when someone gets tazed like that! A friend of mine tazed herself just being "silly" and "stupid" and she was thrown back and out of it for a few minutes.
Man that was just sick!

Re: UCLA student repeatedly tazed
How very sad. I spent a number of years as a police dispatcher. I completely support the fact that officers must take immediate control of a situation, you cannot be Mr. Nice Guy and a take down is never a pretty sight, even when done correctly. However, with that comes the heavy responsibility to know when you are going over a line.
I guess my first question has to be where these actual trained police officers or the more typical campus rent-a-cops? Secondly, the student does bear responsibility for refusing to comply. It may not be a popular opinion but continuing to fight when a number of officers are on you like white on rice is pointless and not in your own best interest. Had the student complied likely it would have decreased the tension and escalation. It then places the blame even more squarely on the campus cops. By continuing to fight and curse, the student in that video only gave those idiots in uniform a good excuse (and believe me they and their legal rep will use that to wiggle out if possible from charges of excessive force).
It's very sad that a small number in uniform make it look bad for so many that do a hard, thankless job day in and day out. Unfortunately there are no videos of those officers, only this awful stuff.
