Re: Zoo Med Vs Flexwatt
few zoomed pads-well over 150 dollars depending on how many you want, much more electricity being used.
few feet a flexwatt-few bucks, 20 watts max being used.
if you're worried about not being able to assemble the flexwatt have it prewired.

I was just going to say that.
I have only one BP (for now) and I admit, I use Zoo Med heat pads (I need two for my tub) but, as soon as I get more snakes and convert to a rack, I will be getting Flexwatt. Like mr~python said, it's more economical.

Re: Zoo Med Vs Flexwatt
flexwatt can be ordered from most places already wired. I just started using flexwatt and like it more for a few reasons. First, it gets the temps up higher so if my temps drop at night for whatever reason, it will stay up there. Second, they are much thinner than the zoo-med. Lastly, they are tons cheaper! You can get 11" foot length for like $3.50 plus a few dollars for wiring. Very simple to use and you choose how long it is.

Re: Zoo Med Vs Flexwatt
people that have hundreds of balls, most definitely need flexwatt
i have 3, and i use zoo med UTH and it was expensive. so i would think flexwatt would've been cheaper, but wiring it up seems rather complicated

Re: Zoo Med Vs Flexwatt
I have used ZMed pads for years with no problems. They were expensive, but I bought them before I knew about FW.
I am mad now, b/c it seems that ZMed discontinued the pads I use; the black ons with the outer coating. Now all they have are the ones that look like FW.. and I will not use then b/c I had one under my '06 female's tub, and part of the wiring came exposed for no reason and SHOCKED me.. this pad was rand new and had air space below it.. it terrifies me to think that this could have started a fire or something.. so now I am scared to try anything new.
