So, I was moving a few snakes into larger tubs the other night (at 2:00 AM no less, what am I a loser?) and I decide to see if our male mojave is producing sperm yet. He's only 400 grams or so, but I was curious. Well, no sperm plugs, and what's this, no hemipenes. So I pop again, nothing. I think back a few months to when I got him in, and I don't recall verifying the sex when "he" arrived. I was a little baffled, and thought "maybe I'm just too tired, I'll try again in the morning". So I wake up and try again, nothing. I even probed "him" to verify my findings even though popping a 400 gram ball isn't that tough...4 scales. I don't know if I should be upset or not. "He" may have bred late this season, but I wasn't counting on it, and now I have a jump on producing some super mojaves, so I think I'm OK with it. I definitely would be mad if I wanted a female and got a male. I guess I have to get a male now though, which I think I'm OK with too (any excuse to get more balls is a good excuse right!!
). So what do you all think about my predicament?
