Question Is my amel normal? possible DUW

    Hi,

These are pics of my amel "amy" - I didn't name her ok?

The reason I ask is although I have seen others as pale as her most of them had a far more pronounced belly pattern.

I tried to correct the colour in the photos to be as true to life as possible as the camera I have borrowed seems to emphasise red by an astounding amount and I can't find out how to correct it. She is a little more orange and less red but this was the best I could do.

Also does she look a little "chubby"?

In normal light her belly seems perfectly clear and opalescent but by turning it I managed to show the little pattern there is.

    And finally the inevitable booty shot;

At the moment I only have a normal male to breed with her to but wondered if her pattern is a good compliment for anything else in particular.

    Thanks

Yup she has wonderfull red eyes just like her daddy when I've bin drinking.

When I first got her she had a really wierd feeding response - she didn't strike just opened her mouth, reached out and started swallowing ( I feed all my snakes F/T) now she strikes like a hammer aimed at my thumb

I'm a bit worried I'm over feeding her though ( hence the chubby question) as I tend to use her as garbage disposal if the male corn isn't hungry.

Last week she had 3 full grown mice and I asumed she wouldn't be hungry this week she ate two fullgrowns as if nothing was different. I was originally trying to fatten her a little for breeding but changed my mind after the male seemed disintrested in the first session, so she never got to use any of the "extra" weight. She now seems to expect a second helping of mouse and I always feel such a heel putting them back in the tank hungry.

Well in the long run she will be in better health and a better breeder if she is not allowed to get "chunky" .So when she looks at you wondering where is the rest of her dinner tell her no .We have to keep our scaley kids in grat shape

    Hi,

Yeah I know I shouldn't let her get too chunky but I only have one other corn to compare her too and he's still at the getting longer not thicker stage .

She looks fine compared to a ball python .

Just thought I'd get an opinon from people who look at more corn snakes than I do.

    so,

Does her butt look big in this.

She was shedding so the colours are a little wierd.

Re: Is my amel normal? possible DUW

wow that's a colour morph I don't even know of

After a bit of searching and comparing (boy did she not enjoy that) she is the same thickness as the thickest part of the neck of a 70cl jack daniels bottle at the thickest part with the 2 mice in it and just slightly larger than the top of the bottle (with the lid on) in the normal bits.

So I'd say around 3cm in diameter in the middle empty.
