liking the cold? or not old enough to know?

okay, when snakes are born, do they know how to thermoregulate? I have a brand new RTB, and he is the funniest thing, i let him have free roam of my room, as long as i can see him, he doesn't move fast, so i just keep a good watch on him, and he decided to perch next to my window. Well, it wa pretty cool because he slithered up my wall, but his head on top of the ledge, and hoisted himself up (i did have my hands under him just incase he fell...i dont want any snakes getting hurt!) onto the window, and was hanging out there. Well i picked him up a few minutes later, and he was very cold. I didn't realize how cold it was outside (its florida...its usually 75-85 during the day), well, i put him back into his cage so he could warm up again, but he went right to the cooler side of his tank....Do you think that he is just not old enough to know that he would have freezed his butt off on the window, or did he actually like the cold? I dont think he would, but i just have to ask.

    Thanks all!

i have no experience with rtb's, but as far as i know i love jumping into a cold pool after standing in 80-90 degree heat. Im pretty sure snakes know how to thermoregulate instinctively, even newborns.
