yet more questions
ok, I've got another round of questions. seems like just when you get something figured out, something else goes hokey
ok I finally got the flexwatt hooked up and such. I had 2 panels on the bottom of the tank because of the cold winters up here, I thought it would need two. so last night i cut off the second panel because of the temp reading 98 degrees.
so with only one panel, I have the heat under control. now, humidity is an issue, but its too high.
ok...set up
I have plastic under-the-bed bins. I have flexwatt on 1/3 of the tank. Water bowl in the middle of the tank. Holes drilled on every side, with more being on the opposite side of the flexwatt.
now, I put new holes in the tank yesterday, trying to fix the humidity being too high. It worked for Nag (who is on the bottom) but not for Nagaina.
would it work if I turned Nagaina's tank around, so it would be Nag's flexwatt on the right side, and Nagaina's on the left side? would that help with the humidity, or not at all? should I put more holes in their tank just in general to keep the humidity under control? should I move the water bowl to one side or the other?
I think thats it for now, but rest assured I shall be back to pester you all once again (wicked laughter)
thanks folks

Re: yet more questions
Well.. what is your humidity level right now? Are you sure the snake didn't leave you a nice moist present that could up humidity (it's amazing how much a stinky can up the humidity LOL)
You can try moving the water dish farther from the flexwatt.. and you can also drill more holes (try some in the lid directly above the flexwatt)
Just to be sure.. do you have something controlling the flexwatt (thermostat or rheostat) ?? Because you said it got to 98 degrees.. that shouldn't be a problem if you have a t-stat or rheostat to turn down a few notches. Is your cool side still above 80 degrees?

Re: yet more questions
Let it settle for awhile when i first made my setup the humidity was high then lowered to perfect for a couple days then dropped real low so i had to fix that. How high exactly is it?

well, she did leave me a present, but that was before the humidity went all hokey. I had it cleaned up before this started.
I moved her water dish AND drilled more holes already...still not working.
I have dimmers attached to the flexwatt. have been monitering temps regularly, but when it hit 98 degrees, I simply opened the cage and let it breathe. by this time, I had so much extra moisture, it soaked the substrate on one side.
now, the problem is, I am having issues with the OTHER tank. the one I was having trouble with before, is now aparently fine. ita Nagaina's tank, on top, that is giving me grief.
