Another humidity question

Sorry...everyone seems to ask the same questions on here over and over but I am worried. As you all know my boa just moved into her 4x2.5x2.5 encolsure. I am having a REALLY hard time keeping her humidity even at 40% and she is starting to show signs that there is not enough moisture in there. Her scales are getting really rough, her eyes have the occasional dent (which goes away in a day or two and comes back) and where her body bends, her scales are permanently folded (bent). I've tried using waterfalls to increase humidity, a room humidifier (which humidifies the room but not the enclosure for some reason), I've put a fogger right beside her cage in the room, I tried using a spray bottle to keep everything moist but I'm afraid if I spray it too much it may cause scale rot, as well as I give her a bath every few days to try to moisten her up. I was thinking of putting real plants in, do you think that will do anything? Has anyone had problems with larger boas climbing on them, knocking them over? If anyone has any ideas I would REALLY appriciate it. I am willing to try just about anything right now. Thanks so much.

PS : Good news though....she has finally gotten used to the space and is out of her hide almost all the time now YEEHAAWW!

a water bowl with a larger surface area, possibly placed over the heading pad/under the lamp. What kind of enclosure?

a ceramic water dish over a heat source (UTH) will definitely increase your humidity. i would stay away from adding live plants in the enclosure.

I think the reason to avoid live plants is because it would be hard to keep things wet enough for the plants with out causing scale rot. Is that right or is it something else?

That sounds like a very good reason to avoid live plants to me. Another reason is because BP's will just crush them anyhow, in their usual cruising about their territory.

I have found quite a bit of success in regularly dunking the plastic foliage in water then adding it straight to the viv.

is the enclosure glass with a screen top? cause if so i had success by duck taping plastic wrap to the screen to hold the humidity and i have my bp's water bowl over the uth, then for more humidity i have a larger water bowl under his lamp works perfectly. but like i said its a glass cage.

If you're using a basking lamp, thats part of the problem. Try getting a mister of some sort and using some kind of bark for a substrate. Like mentioned, if you are using a screen top, you may have to tape off part of it to reduce the amount of air exchange. Some people may disagree with my logic here but I think 40-50% humidity is fine unless in shed. My female has had successful sheds in 30% humidity before.

Thanks everyone! Here are some answers to the question you had asked. She does not have a screen top it is a solid piece of wood, I do have her water bowl under one of her heating lamps but because the lamp is 2.5 feet above the bowl I don't think that that is helping. I do use a bark substrate from the pet store that is supposed to help hold in moisture but I don't know.....the space is just so large.....it's annoying!! I will however try wetting down the fake greenery. What kind of mister are you talking about?
