i was wondering if it was ok that my bp never basks he is in his hide all day then at night he wanders around the cage he never basks. thanks for your help

Ball pythons are nocturnal and generally don't bask. Your guy sounds like he's acting perfectly normal for a ball python!

yeah i figured so . but my buddys bp does bask . wierd i guess

Does your buddy only use a light for heat, or also use a UTH? If he only uses light, then that may be why his snake basks. I don't offer lights to any of mine.

Perhaps you can invite your friend to join the forum, or print our care sheet for him, so that he can make sure all his snake's husbandry requirements are being met. I imagine his humidity is horrible if his only heat source is a lamp!
