Exclamation BP drool? Yah, no kidding!

Anybody ever had their BP drool on them?! I'm not kidding - he just ate yesterday (about 30 hours ago), and he's never done this before, but he's literally drooling on me here!

    Thoughts?

And yes, Mr. Zeppelin is doing great Such a big boy!

Sounds like an RI, what are your temps? A vet trip may be in order.

Eesh! That's what I was thinking We actually just moved, so his temps have been off for the past couple of days. Low to mid-70's at worst He's got a full belly, and a warm hide now, but is this not going to blow over? No audible "wheezing," by the way.

Its hard to tell you for sure over the internet but thats what it sounded like to me, I would take him to the vet, just to be safe. What did the "drool" look like (color, sticky?)

It was clear, and a wee bit slimey. I actually thought I might have been at fault, what with the 12-pack. :p

    =S

He's active, and doesn't seem to have an altered mood.

We'll definitely see the vet on Monday. I don't want my little stud to be neglected.

Is it possible that he'd just had a drink of water? Was it a one time thing or is it pretty consistant? If an RI was that advanced that mucous was pouring out of him, I would think you'd hear/feel a wheeze by then. Of course it's always best to take your animal to a vet if you have any concerns, as they are the only one who can give you an accurate diagnosis. (just thought to offer another possiblity)

Re: BP drool? Yah, no kidding!

I'd take him to the vet just to be sure. You may not have heard him wheeze. And with the move and the temps being off, just to be extra careful.

I'm keeping an extra carefull eye on my snakes as we lost power on thursday so their tanks got cold, and if I heard them weeze or saw them drool, I'll be taking them to the vet. Personally I feel it's better to err on the side of caution.

Let us know how it goes though (if you do or don't take him to the vet/if he keeps drools/whatnot).

Question, why are you handleing him after just eating not 30 hours ago? You just might get more then his drool but his whole meal on you.Never had a snake droll unless it was URI.
