shout out thanks
well, I just thought I would let everyone know that I finally think I have my plastic bins set up properly!
I reread some old posts for help, and I got some from you all this past month or so, and I think I finally have things right.
I did finally break down and get the flexwatt stuff, which in all honesty I thought would be more expensive and harder to use, but I was wrong. mt father-in-law is an electrician (sp?) and he gave me some interesting advice.
dont know how many of you know this or not so I'm just gonna say it. There are, in the lighting department of someplace like Menards, Home Depo, or Lowe's, dimmers for lamps. You plug your flexwatt into the dimmer cord, and plug the dimmer cord straight into the outlet. that way,. if your dimmer goes, you dont have to replace the flexwatt as well, and vice versa with the replacing the flexwatt and not having to replace the dimmer. its really a neat idea and it seems to be working great for me.
I also got a neat-o thermometer gun to measure temp in a second. shoot it at the thing you want to know the temp of and presto, there it is.
(tempgun.com) I got it at the local store, but thats the url on the tempgun itself.
anywho, I wanted to shout out a BIG thanks to all of you who helped me out with getting things right for my babies!
anyone got any good suggestions on a hygrometer I can put in the bins?

Re: shout out thanks
There are a few people on here that put dimmers on their heating devices and they work fine, but it's still a good idea to run your flexwat off of a thermostat.
As for the hygrometer, I know that another few people use the accurite thermo/hygrometers. They measure temperature and humidity on the unit itself, and it also has a probe to measure a second temperature. About $12.00 at Wal-Mart.
