    sterilite drawers as housing??

so what about taking sterilite drawer things, like the wide one that is 3 drawers tall and using it as a rack..

just run heat tape up one side and then cover the heat tape with a peice of insulation board. it would create a warm side, and a cool side over the width of the drawers and the drawers would just slide out..

i just thought of it.. wondered if anyone else had?

i have at one time but noticed the gap along the top of the drawers would need to add a peice of something to prevent escape.

Not good for caging at all ... they are very far from escape proof.

I used one of those for a few days. The "rack" was in my bedroom, right next to my dresser. I got up in the middle of the night, passed my dresser, and some papers rustled. Didn't think much of it, and went on. As I was passing my dresser on my way back to bed, the papers rustled again. This time, I paid attention. Turned the light on, and there was an angry bp staring me in the face (its a tall dresser). Spent the next hour or so relocating snakes. Now the drawers are used as storage for supplies.

We've had a couple members try to use those with no success, at least with snakes. I believe they can be used successfully with leopard geckos though.
