    Question Baby Ball Pythons

I will be getting a baby ball soon-ish(nearer to and for christmas) and am doing as much research as possible.
I was wondering if housing a ball in the same room as a bird and rabbit would be a bad idea. I currently have the bird cage and rabbit cage in my bedroom(my dad doesn't want to see them ) and would like the snake to live there as well. However, would the near-constant smell make the ball nervous, aggressive, or other things I don't want? I have alternative living plans if this is a bad idea(empty room)
Also, I don't want to have to buy two tanks. If I buy a 30 gallon tank, could I section it off so that instead of having too much room he's confined to a portion of it?(by way of cardboard or other dividing things)
    Thanks for any help!

I don't *think* the ball would be adversely affected by birds or rabbits or whatever...just make sure that the room isn't chaotic and that the other animals' cages are kept clean to keep the overall smell of the room down. My preference would be to keep a room just for reptiles, though.

Dividers are cool for sectioning off larger tanks, just make sure its secure and still enables you to provide the right thermal gradient. Might take some tweaking, but its possible.

and its definitely NOT a good idea to house a ball python with any other animals.especially animals that are larger than the snake.

You have misunderstood him. He wants to house the ball in the same room as the pets that smell like food. The thirty gallon tank is so he would not have to purchase one in the future. The snake will be alone in it, it will just be sectioned off.

I think a 30 gallon would be fine, just add several smaller hides thought out the cage and it should be feel secure. You can upgrade to fewr and larger hides as it grows to keep it comfy and secure.

You will be fine keeping the animals in the same room. My cat and dog are always spending time with me in my reptile room and I have never had any incidents....except one time, the cat went after an escaped lizard....

That would be my only worry....If for some reason your snake gets out, are the animals that are in the room a threat to the snake....or is the snake a threat to the animals in the room? If so, make sure your enclosures are escape proof

He was not talking about housing the animals in the same ENCLOSURE.....just the same ROOM

I keep my hampster and gecko in the same room I worry more about the cat than I do the snakes.. You should be ok. Just keep all the cages clean to keep the smell down like they said and good luck with your new addation.

Other than that, thank you for the replies. The enclosures I currently own are excape-proof, and if it did happen that the snake got loose everything would be ok, except a baby ball might fit through the bars of the rabbit cage
    Just joking
