I don't *think* the ball would be adversely affected by birds or rabbits or whatever...just make sure that the room isn't chaotic and that the other animals' cages are kept clean to keep the overall smell of the room down. My preference would be to keep a room just for reptiles, though.

Dividers are cool for sectioning off larger tanks, just make sure its secure and still enables you to provide the right thermal gradient. Might take some tweaking, but its possible.
