Re: Hides....
i was a a pet store the other day and the RTB they had was on top of it's log hide. I guess they don't really use them. Maybe they're more of a "Look at Me!!!" snake... hmmm

Re: Hides....
Although they are more arboreal than BPs, they definitely use hides! I have a 7 ft. girl that crams herself into a hidebox that is about 12"x15"x10" and spends most of the daylight hours in there. I'm sure it varies between individuals though, some may rarely use them.

Re: Hides....
Being arboreal in nature..........they tend to want a perch more then a hide......one that uses a hide is more uncommon then one that doesnt.

Re: Hides....
My 6.5' girl would rarely use the hide but my 2' boy barely comes out of it besides at night when he is extremely active.

Re: Hides....
From what I've read about people's experiences is that some boas use them, some don't, so offer hides and perches and get to know what your snake seems to prefer. =)
My 3' Surinam loves her hides and disappearing into the leafiness of her cage plants. =)

Re: Hides....
I had a baby Argentine who would never hide in her log. I tried a tiny flower pot and a small wooden hide box, but she wouldn't go for those either. She was very nervous and easily stressed when she first came to me, so I found a solution: A washrag. She immediately curled up under it and that was that. The extra-snug, warm feeling of the rag must've really helped. I would pick her up and hold her within the rag, and she was much calmer during handling too.

Re: Hides....
My 6' female does fine without one but will eagarly accept them if I give a couple to her but my little male at only 2'+/- will never use any. I just gave up and took hid hides out of the tub

Too many boas to list and a few balls as well
