The two best ways to treat mice (as far as I know) would both be compatible with shedding. If you'll obtain some Provent-A-Mite (with an O), treat the bedding as per the directions, that will have no impact on shedding. The other thing you can do to provide quick relief, is to soak your snake in a warm (80 - 85 degrees fahrenheit) bath about 1 to 1 1/2 " deep. The mites will drown in the water, and the soak may actually help with the shed. Don't depend on the soaking alone to treat the mites though. You need to get the Provent-A-Mite.
