    Got melamine!

We bought our melamine and are planning on assembling the rack tomorrow. The sheets were $27.00 per 49" x 95 slabs; we had it cut to the right sizes (that saw at Home Depot IS cool, guys!) 2 slabs' worth was fine; we have a few off sized extra pieces. We are putting in spaces for 4 tubs, for our 3 adult and one subadult BPs to start off with.. but there Is room for a few additions .
We have only one tub so far; off to Wally World tmrw to get the rest. Wish us luck building! I will post pics.

I plan on taking shots every step of the way (not sure if they're going to be with the camera, or from a shot glass, lol.) Here are the raw materials! (only one tub so far.)

Looks like its going to be fun! Are you planning on putting heavy duty casters on the bottom so it's more mobile? The leopard gecko rack I made is REAL heavy, I didn't use casters so I doubt it will ever be moving.

Hm.. that is an idea. We need to get to a hardware store anyway, b/c we don't have the right drill bti at home after all. Can't build until tomorrow, and our power will be out from 7am till noon (yearly town maintenance thing) so i will update as I am able!

Jen, i would recommend that you do infact put wheels on your rack.Once the rack is finished it will not be light by no means:eek: .I am very happy Tim (muddoc) did place wheels on the rack he built for me.

    Re: Got melamine!

i agree with the wheel suggestions... just moving it, if you have laminate or hardwood flooring... would scratch the carp outta it.
