Flex watt for a Kenyan Sand Boa.

I'm seriously considering getting flex watt for my KSB since I'm getting annoyed of heat lamps burning out all the time. My question is since KSB live under the substrate what would you guys consider the best solution? Heat lamps, flex watt or a lil of both?

I use flexwatt for my little guy. In fact I use flexwatt for ALL of my snakes. Just make sure you have a T-Stat to contraol the temp of the flexwatt, if not that flexwatt can get up to 113 or hotter. You don't want to cook your ksb!!!!

Yeah, a kenyan hot dog doesnt sound too good. With the heat lamps I've had great success maintaining the right temps, and when she goes into shed, I always mist around her water dish, and the coconut substrate I use holds amazing humidity for her to have a perfect shed.

You can put some newspaper under the substrate so it will not have direct contact with the bottom of your tank, but like they said, your best bet is to use a thermostat to control the temperature.
