how to keep temps at night?

In my tank setup i have an exo terra heat pad and a day light. The light produces regular white light and a good amount of heat. AT night i dont want to keep the light on so i use a red bulb. My red bulb doesnt produce as much heat what should i do?

No, because it creates light (obviously), and ball pythons need it dark through the night as they are nocturnal.

No, they need to have a day/night cycle. BPs are nocturnal, so daytime all the time wouldn't work out too well!

As Jason said, if your UTH isn't doing the job, get another to put under there. You might consider getting a bigger one than you have and using the new one for the warm side, and the old one for the cool side.

i use ceramic heat emiters for my rosy boa since she require a lower humidity than most of my other snakes . i havent had any problems with it and since it puts out no light it wont interfer with your snakes photo period . they generally last longer than light bulbs too .

Plus, BP's like all creatures, including people need the dark so not to be stressed out.
