I agree with Christie to do what you can to bump your overall temps another couple of degrees.

I have a theory as to why he may favor the cooler side of the tank for a little while, if he came out of the box really cold: Have you ever been really chilly right before climbing into a warm bath? Even though the water isn't overly hot, it FEELS that way because your body is cooler than normal. Now, I realize that's comparing warm-blooded creatures to cold-blooded creatures....but my point is that maybe its more comfortable for them to warm up gradually. If he came out of the box really cold, then the 78* side might already feel quite toasty.

That's my theory anyhow...based purely on late-night speculation that may or may not have any basis in fact or reality.
Incredible. As I was reading Rachel's post I was thinking the exact same thing! Same example, everything! I think being cold blooded may even make that "feeling" more noticeable, since they get ALL their heat from the environment?
