So I'm thinkin female pastel or male spider...

I know i said earlier i was going to be done buying snakes atleast until next year but I got a big commission check from my job for doing so good last month...

Just trying to decide between a female pastel (graziani) or a male spider..

anybody purchase one of these recently and from who? Pics would be cool as well as (+) or (-) about who you got it from....let me know...

Why not both both dom. Genes and you can produce bumblebees and super pastels down the road.

I was thinkin that and I could swing it but I want to go ahead and invest in a rack and a incubator...Since i'll need both...But that was what i wanted to do at first.

Re: So I'm thinkin female pastel or male spider...

The way I did it was I got my caging setup ready to roll (hatchling, juvi, adult) with the right thermostats and whatnot, then started shopping for animals.

My strategy was that having the rack would give me an idea as far what I could accomodate and make the most with the space I had. Playing catch-up with your caging by buying your stock first can get really expensive in the long run. Proper caging is so important with ball pythons, its not something you want to skip out on.

Well what i was thinkin is instead of buying both snakes and not having the cage...buy one (spider-male) and the rack setup in one shot ... I was thinkin about building one but I like the idea of spending the extra money and getting a nice looking prebuilt setup...

I would go with the male spider! Since you already have breedable females, you will be able to produce spiders as soon as the male is ready. But if you get a female pastel you could have to wait 3 years for her to be breedable.

Re: So I'm thinkin female pastel or male spider...

Whatever you gotta do...my simple advice to get your caging straight first before any snakes come home...I jumped around from glass to plastic cages to racks and spent a lot of money I could have saved to spend on more morphs! If I could do it all over again, I would have gotten my caging setup first (racks, tubs, thermostats, waterbowls, hides, etc etc etc) before I started buying snakes.

Having empty tubs also allows you to plan ahead as well as jump on spur of the moment deals, which you see to be good at finding!

But yeah, Definetly getting the rack setup. I will still have a couple glass tanks though just to kinda showcase my hottest animals...
