We need some more info please. Even at 6', my female in a 4' by 2' cage would rather hide than be out in the open when she first goes back in her cage. When I walk in the room though, she comes out and starts pushing on the front trying to get out. I actually don't use any hides for my 2 boas anymore and the continue to eat every week even in full blue. As long as its not like a 2' boa in a 4' cage, you should be fine. I would still use hides for younger boas in bigger cages no matter what
