    Re: handling your bp

I moved this to general bp.

I handle my bps several times a week, but whatever works best for you and your snake is ok. (of course never for 48 hours after feeding)

    Re: handling your bp

Personally I see handling the snakes we own as a gift, so it's not one any of us abuse or overdo. Handling is really more about your pleasure than the snake's need to be handled and some snakes take to it with less stress than others. Our BCI for instance is a dream to handle but then that type of snake generally is. BP's are more of a shy snake so some of them don't react well to being messed with much. Some of our BP's however are very used to being handled a couple of times a week for 15 or so minutes and seem fine with that sort of schedule.

Just remember that some days your snake just won't want to be bothered with you at all and that's fine. They are living creatures deserving of their own limits when it comes to interactions with their human keepers. Develop handling habits the snake can recognize as non-threatening. Learn your own particular snake's ways and I'm sure you'll both do fine.
