    Re: Loo-Kistic or Loo-Systic?

i must admit that i dont know how to pronounce half the science related things i know a lot about. the fact is, i've been self-taught on everything and most of the stuff i read doesnt exactly have the little dictionary style pronunciation cues.
its never a problem until i go to a herp show or something like that and sound like an idiot when i'm trying to talk herps with people.
    any way around this?

I have heard people say it as "low-chistic." Low, rhyming with how you'd say "Ow!" if you got hurt.

I've always pronounced Leucistic as Loo-Systic, Boid as "Bo-id", Boidae as "Bo-id-ay", yet Boids as "Boyds".
