    Loo-Kistic or Loo-Systic?

How do you pronounce Leucistic? I always thought it was with a 'K' sound, but I was watching the tube last night and Mr. Irwin pronounced it with an 'S' sound.

I agree that I've probably been saying it wrong all this time, but I thought I'd throw a poll out there to see how many other phonetically challenged people are around.

S sound but then I mispronounced boid (as in boidae) for ages until Kara explained it's said "bo-id" not "boyd".

I'm always mispronouncing words... I swear, if I ever participated in a spelling bee I'd be riding there on a short bus.

BTW, how many people pronounce URL like 'Earl" (as I do) instead of "You Are El"?

loo-systic. I think leucistic is based on the word leucitic.
